Johannesburg / Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park - Safari

Day 1 – Depart for Johannesburg, South Africa, and to Upington, Northern Cape. Day 2
Upington – Kgalagadi -Twee Rivieren (260 km)
Arrival in Upington which is the principal town, commercial, educational and social centre of the Green Kalahari. Upington is situated next to the Orange River and owes its prosperity to agriculture and its irrigated lands along the Orange River. Upington is characterized by hot climate and summer rainfall. After your flight arrives, we will depart for Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. We will stop on route at the Khomani San Bushmen where you can view their art and have a 2km trail walk for spoor identifying. Upon arrival at Twee Rivieren, you can retire to your lodge for a short rest after which we will depart on a magnificent game drive until the gates close. Antelopes such as the Gemsbok, Hartebeest, Springbok and Wildebeest can be found in the Kgalagadi Park. Approximate predator numbers: Lions – 450, Leopards – 150, Cheetah – 200, Spotted hyenas – 370. There are about 264 bird species of which 20 raptor species are present. Night game drives are also available with rangers in an open truck.
Overnight: Twee Rivieren chalets/lodges (air-conditioned and swimming pool).

Safari – Day 3
Twee Rivieren – Nossob (160km)
Wake call one hour before the Park’s gates open. You’ll be treated to an early morning game drive after which we will return to the lodge for breakfast.
After breakfast we will depart for a game drive in the dry river bed. We will do stalk driving (North-East) for about 5-6 hours to Nossob. During your travels on this day, you will learn more about the Kalahari and its secrets. Upon arrival at the lodge in the afternoon, you can retire for a short rest after which we will depart on a game drive until gates close. Special feature of Nossob: Game view at hide where we will watch with a spotlights animals to the waterhole.
Overnight: Nossob: chalets/lodges (ceiling fan and swimming pool).
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.
Safari – Day 4
Nossob
We will wake up one hour before the gates opens and have a game drive in direction North where we will visit the various waterholes along this route. You will have the opportunity to learn to read and analyze animal tracks. Various game drives are available depending on game reports or sightings.
Overnight: Nossob
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.
Safari – Day 5
Nossob - Mata-Mata (150km)
Wake up call an hour before gates open. Pack up and game drive towards Mata Mata. Today we will search for the famous Kalahari Lion as well as the smaller inhabitants of the desert, like the Meerkat. We will arrive at Mata Mata in the afternoon, check in and have a short rest before we depart on another game drive to explore the area.
Special feature Mata Mata: Game hide with spotlight.
Overnight: Mata Mata chalets/lodges (ceiling fan and pool).
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Safari – Day 6
Wake- up call an hour before gates open. Today we’ll on a game drive South where we’ll spend the day exploring this vast Wilderness, until the gates close. Afterward you’ll be treated to the extraordinary experience of having dinner under the stars in the Kalahari.
Overnight: Mata Mata chalets/lodges
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Safari - Day 7
Mata Mata – Twee Rivieren – Upington (405km)
Wake up call one hour before gates open, pack up and depart South. Today we’ll learn more of the Kalahari and her secrets. After 4 – 5 hours of stalk driving we’ll reach Twee Rivieren (12h00) after which we’ll depart for Upington for your flight to Johannesburg
Meals: Breakfast & Lunch.
Overnight in Johannesburg
Day 8
DEPART FOR AIRPORT
After breakfast, depart for Johannesburg International Airport for your flight home, bringing home with you fond memories and souvenirs of South Africa- not to be found elsewhere in the World.

Arrive at your destination
